- Areas of Research: Microactuators, Piezoelectric Actuators, Ultrasonic Motors
Shunsuke Izuhara has been working as an assistant professor at Kyoto University of Advanced Science since 2021. He received his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Dr. Eng. degrees from Toyohashi University of Technology in 2017, 2019, and 2022, respectively.
His main research interests include the design and evaluation of micro ultrasonic actuators and their application to miniature devices. In recent years, the miniaturization of high-performance camera devices is required for thinner, more compact structures in various applications, such as smartphones, drones, and endoscopes. Miniature actuators are essential to control the position of lenses. He is working on the development of "compact, easy-to-use actuators that demonstrate sufficient performance" which are optimal for devices.
