Dr. Nobuyuki Utsumi earned his PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Tokyo, and conducted research at the University of Tokyo and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory before joining Kyoto University of Advanced Science in 2019.
Dr. Utsumi specializes in hydrometeorology, and his research focuses on the impact of climate change on global water resources and water-related natural disasters. He is also working with JAXA and NASA to develop a method to observe rain and snow using remote sensing satellites.
Recently, he has also contributed to the advancement of agricultural utilizations of drone photography and weather forecast data.
