On Saturday, November 29, 2025, Kyoto University of Advanced Science (KUAS) and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) co-hosted the KUAS × JETRO Company–Student Networking Event at the Uzumasa Campus.
This event was designed to deepen understanding between companies and students by inviting Japanese companies that are proactive in hiring international talent and providing opportunities for direct interaction.
A total of 102 English-track international students from various faculties and year levels attended the event in person. Students listened attentively to the company presentations and actively engaged in discussions during the networking session, demonstrating a high level of interest and motivation throughout the program.
In the post-event survey, students rated the event 3.7 out of 4.0, indicating a very high level of satisfaction. Many students commented that the event broadened their career perspectives and helped them form a more concrete image of working in Japanese companies. Selected comments include:
・“I got to know companies I had never heard of before.”
・“Talking directly with companies helped me better understand their internship and recruitment processes.”
・“The explanations in English made it easy to understand the companies’ business activities.”
・“Even as a first-year student, it was easy to participate, and it helped me think about my future.”
・“As an international student, it is difficult to approach Japanese companies on my own, so this type of networking event is very helpful.”
・“Speaking directly with CEOs and HR representatives gave me real insight into job roles and working styles.”
・“It was a valuable opportunity to learn about Japanese work culture.”
・“I felt reassured after directly speaking with companies that are open to hiring English-track international students.”
The event began with opening remarks from Vice President Tabata, Dean Castellazzi (Faculty of Engineering), and Mr. Yoshihiko Kanai, Director of the JETRO Kyoto Trade Information Center. This was followed by the program below:

・ JETRO presentation on key points of job hunting in Japan

This event marks the second KUAS × JETRO co-hosted initiative this year. KUAS will continue strengthening career support for English-track international students and expanding collaboration with companies in order to enhance opportunities for student career development.
