山 愛美教授（人文学部心理学科）が 『村上春樹、方法としての小説』を刊行

2019年12月24日に人文学部心理学科 山愛美教授の著書が刊行されます。

山教授が取り組んできた村上春樹の創作過程をテーマにしたものです。

〈本著内容〉

村上春樹は、小説家は「洞窟の中の語り手（ストーリーテラー）」の末裔であると言う。彼は小説という枠組みの中で自らの心の深みに下降し、「物語」が自発的に語り始める場を作り出す。そういった創作過程をともに体験するような読み方を心理臨床、深層心理学の立場から提示し、なぜ村上の作品が世界中の多くの読者を力づけ、惹きつけ続けているのかを探る。

〈山教授コメント〉

本著は、できる限り心理学の専門用語は使わずに、一般の読者にむけて、現代社会、そして現代人の心のありようを共に見直すために書きました。皆さんが村上春樹の物語を読んで、これまでとは違ったものとして体験されると嬉しいです。

Professor YAMA Megumi publishes ‘Haruki Murakami: Novel as Method A Descent into the Depths of Memory’

Professor YAMA Megumi of the Department of Psychology in the Faculty of Humanities is publishing a book entitled ‘Haruki Murakami: Novel as Method A Descent into the Depths of Memory’ which appears on 24 December 2019. The theme is novelist MURAKAMI Haruki’s creative process, a topic that Professor YAMA has been studying.

The book describes how Murakami says that novelists are descendants of “a narrator in a cave (a storyteller).” He descends into the depths of his mind within the framework of a novel and creates a place where its “story” begins to speak spontaneously. The book explains how readers can experience that creative process from the point of view of clinical psychology and deep psychology, and discusses why Murakami’s works have attracted many readers around the world.

Professor YAMA explains that her book is written for the general reader. It tackles the ways of modern society and the minds of modern people, as much as possible without using technical psychological jargon. After reading her book she hopes that readers of Murakami’s stories will experience them differently.
