KUAS Professor Dr. Sajid Nisar Honored with Prestigious Outstanding AE Award by the IEEE

Kyoto University of Advanced Science (KUAS) is thrilled to announce a remarkable achievement by one of its faculty members. Dr. Sajid Nisar from the Faculty of Engineering has been recognized with the highly coveted IEEE ICRA Conference Editorial Board’s Outstanding Associate Editor Award. This prestigious honor places Professor Nisar among an elite group of just five recipients globally, a testament to his exceptional scientific leadership, editorial capabilities, and profound impact on the global robotics stage.

Out of more than 7,000 reviewers and 601 Associate Editors who meticulously evaluated over 11,000 submissions, Professor Nisar’s work stood out, earning him this distinguished accolade from the Editorial Board and Editor-in-Chief of the 2025 International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA). ICRA is a flagship global robotics conference organized annually by the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers (IEEE).

The award was officially celebrated at the ICRA 2025 Awards Lunch in Atlanta, USA. Following the conference, Professor Nisar’s name is featured on the IEEE-RAS web page for the ICRA Editorial Board Awards, and he has also received a well-deserved certificate from the IEEE’s Robotics and Automation Society (RAS).

Professor Nisar expressed his deep gratitude and honor for this recognition, acknowledging the trust and positive evaluation from the ICRA 2025 Conference Editorial Board.
