【インターンシップ】 2021年度 全学共通型 夏季インターンシップ（海外・国内）を修了しました

9月25日（土）太秦キャンパスにて、夏季インターンシップの成果報告会を実施し、無事本年度の全プログラムを修了しました。本プログラムでは、「世界で活躍する人財」を目指し、プログラムを通じて獲得した学びや気づきを今後の学生生活に活かすことを目的としています。

5月の学内選考後にプログラムがスタートし、6～7月にかけて実施した計6回の事前授業にて実習先理解を深めるための業界・企業研究やビジネスマナー研修等を行い、各々が8～9月の期間で企業実習に臨みました。

「ウィズコロナ」「ポストコロナ」時代の在り方が問われる中、本学の方向性や教育理念に共感して下さった国内外の企業・団体様一社一社と協議を重ね、今年度も夏季インターンシッププログラムを実施することが出来ました。

海外インターンシップでは、Nidecグループをはじめとする世界各国の海外拠点にオンラインでアクセスし、英語でのファシリテーターを行いながらセッションにあたりました。日本電産モータ株式会社様では、事業拠点を構えるアメリカ、メキシコ、フランス、日本での4拠点同時接続を実現し、グローバル拠点間のコミュニケーションを実感させて頂くと共にご自身の仕事やキャリアについて、会社や働く事に関する理解をより一層深めることができました。

国内インターンシップでは、年々ご支援いただく企業様が増えている中、包括連携協定のもとデロイトトーマツコンサルティング合同会社様に新たに受け入れをして頂きました。仮想クライアント企業からの営業強化の要望に対して、営業課題やあるべき全体像を踏まえた課題解決方法をチームで提案するという難易度の高いものでしたが、限られた情報から解決策を導くプロセスやロジカルに伝える力を学ばせて頂きました。

更に、本年度は特にバイオ環境学部向けプログラム拡大を目指し、学部教員を中心にプロジェクトチームを組織し、多くの企業・団体様に受け入れのご協力を頂くことが出来ました。「発酵食を台所に取り戻す」を掲げる株式会社発酵食堂カモシカ様では、発酵学を学ぶ学部生が味噌や甘酒等の仕込みを始めとする一連の製造業務や全体会議で提案した案を形にする業務、食堂運営やオンラインワークショップ等、多くの業務を経験させて頂きました。実習中の日々の学びをInstagramより「#ごっちゃんは見た！」と題して定期的な広報発信役も務め、実習終了時には社員の皆様から激励や惜別の言葉が詰まったメッセージを頂くなど、非常に濃密な2週間を過ごすことができました。

9月25日（土）には海外・国内両インターンシップ実習生約240名が太秦キャンパスみらいホールで一堂に会し、集大成である成果報告会を実施して約4ヶ月間のインターンシッププログラムを締め括りました。

【Internship】 Summer Internship Program (Overseas and Domestic) Comes To An End

On Saturday, September 25, the 2021 summer internship program students gave presentations about their experiences, successfully concluding this year’s program. The goal of this program is for students to make use of the learning and awareness they gained through the internship in their student lives and become internationally minded people who are ready to work on the global stage.

The program started in May after applicants were screened in an on-campus selection process. In June and July, the students attended a total of six classes, where they learned business manners and studied industries and companies to deepen their understanding of their internship placements before starting their internships in August and September.

Despite the new challenges of the "with Corona" and "post-Corona" era, the Internship Center discussed with domestic and overseas companies and organizations that share KUAS’s educational philosophy and was able to arrange various internship programs for this year as well.

In the overseas internship program, students connected online with Nidec Group and other companies and organization around the world and also facilitated sessions in English. During the Nidec Motor Corporation program, students joined a session with four bases of operation in the U.S., Mexico, France, and Japan, which allowed them to experience communication between global bases and further deepen their understanding of the company and their future work and careers.

The number of partner organizations has been increasing every year, and in the domestic program, one such new partner company is Deloitte Tohmatsu Consulting LLC, which has a comprehensive partnership agreement with KUAS. Students worked as a team to propose a comprehensive solution to a sample case about a client company seeking advice for improving its sales performance. It was a challenging project where they had to devise a strategy based off of limited information, but in doing so, they developed the logical consultant mindset used in the process of creating solutions.

In addition, this year the Internship Center organized a faculty-led project team to expand the program, especially for the Faculty of Bioenvironmental Sciences students, and created new partnerships with many companies and organizations. At Hakko Shokudo Kamoshika, which is committed to "bringing fermented food back to the kitchen," students studying fermentation science helped with a series of production tasks, including the preparation of miso and amazake (sweet sake), and worked on developing proposals in staff meetings, as well as offering support with cafeteria management, online workshops, and many other tasks. They also regularly made posts about their daily activities and learnings on Instagram with the hashtag “#Gocchan wa mita!” (What Gocchan saw!). The students spent a very intensive two weeks during their internship, and at the end, employees sent messages full of encouragement and expressed regret about the program ending so soon.

The four-month internship program concluded in a culminating event on Saturday, September 25, when approximately 240 students from both overseas and domestic internship programs gathered at Mirai Hall on the Uzumasa Campus, to give their presentations.
