International Student Residence Uzumasa B Mockup

By creating a place where students from differing backgrounds can live and learn together, Kyoto University of Advanced Science seeks to enhance students' understanding of diverse cultures and values while opening international exchange to our local community. In this living space, KUAS will strive to nurture specialized, culturally fluent, ethical professionals who can take on the complex and multifaceted challenges of the future with creative thinking and broad insight.

Two Key Features of Our Dormitory

On-campus

The International Student Dormitory is located on the grounds of the Kyoto Uzumasa Campus in the South Building, which was completed in February 2020. The South Building is equipped with a library open 24 hours a day, a craft room, and other facilities, allowing students to enjoy a more fulfilling student life.

GCL(Global Communication and Leadership) Program

All dormitory tenants will be required to participate in the GCL program once a week to develop their communication and leadership skills. This is a fun, team-based exercise. The ultimate goal of this program is to develop students' ability to 1) speak properly in English and 2) accomplish goals through teamwork.

Our GCL program regularly invites faculty members to step outside the classroom and participate in activities. This allows our faculty members an opportunity to share their academic and professional life experiences with our GCL participants. Themes commonly touched upon in the GCL program are world affairs, improving presentation skills, cooperating with an international team, and other practical and fulfilling skills that will later be useful in the workplace.

*The 2022 GCL program's contents are subject to change.
