Facilities & Equipment
Mirai Hall, North Building 3F & 4F
Mirai Hall, located on the third and fourth floors of the North Building, is a functional learning facility that is symbolic of Uzumasa Campus. The hall can accommodate about 500 people, and the chairs are movable and retractable into the walls, allowing the room to be used as a huge event space. Equipped with a projector and sound system, the hall is used not only for classes but also for lectures and other events.
Training Facilities
The Department of Nursing and the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences and Disorders, where students aim to obtain national qualifications in the medical field, have excellent practical training facilities. The Department of Nursing has practical training rooms where students can practice using actual medical equipment in bed (basic and adult nursing), and practical training rooms equipped with in-home facilities that simulate life in a wheelchair (community, home, geriatric, and psychiatric nursing). The Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences and Disorders has a joint laboratory where students can conduct experiments using acoustic and physiological measurement devices, and a hearing test room where students can develop practical skills in hearing tests.
Other
At KUAS, we utilize the latest functional facilities and equipment for learning. In the Library, there are open stacks of specialized books, a computer corner for free use, an independent study corner, and a "learning commons" for group study and discussion. The lecture rooms are equipped with projectors and screens to support active learning, such as presentations of research results.
Uzumasa Campus places great importance on sharing knowledge through interaction, which leads to the growth of each student. Lounges are set up in each building and on each floor to promote interaction, and the restaurant, which offers a wide variety of lunches as well as a sweets menu, is open to the local community. High quality furnishings and pleasant interior designs have been chosen to make time spent in the lounges comfortable.
South Building
Opened in April of 2020, the South Building is a state-of-the-art facility that will serve as a stage for learning in the new KUAS Faculty of Engineering.
International Student Residence Uzumasa A
This new international dormitory is attached to the South Building, making it a very convenient place for students to live.
In the beginning of the 2020 school year, the dormitory will mainly house Japanese students, but from the fall semester of the 2020 academic year, international graduate students will be admitted. From the 2021 school year, the dormitory will also house many international students. In addition, the Global Communication and Leadership (GCL) Program, a unique program provided to all International Dorm residents, is a unique extracurricular experience. Dormitory fees include breakfast and dinner on weekdays, utilities, and groundskeeping fees.
