Scholarships for Applicants

KUAS offers the Super KUAS-E Scholarship and the KUAS-E Scholarship, which can be applied for during the application process. These scholarships are provided to a limited number of outstanding students based on a comprehensive evaluation. Please check the table below for details such as the amounts awarded for each type of scholarship.

Eligibility

Students who will enroll in KUAS, demonstrate outstanding academic performance in their application, and have indicated their intent on the “Scholarship” section of their TAO application.
Please note that KUAS cannot divulge any information regarding the specific selection criteria for its scholarships.

Important

Applicants will be informed of their scholarship application and enrollment application results at the same time.

Recipients of the Super KUAS-E Scholarship or 100% KUAS-E Scholarship will be subject to the payment of an enrollment deposit. The deposit will be refunded to enrolled students after the start of their semester.

Once a student is selected to receive a scholarship, their performance is reviewed each semester based on their academic performance as well as evaluations from their teachers. Scholarship recipients who fail to maintain a high level of academic performance or are found to have behaved in a way that damages the reputation of KUAS will have their scholarships revoked.

Scholarships for Enrolled Students

After enrolling, students can also apply to scholarships provided by KUAS or external organizations (excluding those provided by other universities). For Undergraduate Students

KUAS Outstanding Scholarship

Note: Students can re-apply for this scholarship every year. However, students applying for this scholarship cannot concurrently apply for the Kyoto University of Advanced Science Advanced Scholarship.

KUAS Advanced Scholarship

  • Those who can receive the scholarship for a full year

  • Those who have a high interest and drive in learning Japanese and Japanese culture
  • Those who are not receiving other scholarships
  • Those who will earn their degree within the standard required time
  • Those who intend to complete an internship, research or fieldwork in a country other than Japan for an extended period of time are ineligible.
