Shunsuke Izuhara

Assistant Professor, Doctor of Engineering
You may feel uneasy about trying something new, but we can figure out how to achieve it together. If you have any concerns regarding that or are interested in research activities and would like to experience them for yourself, please feel free to consult with me. I am in full support of our students’ proactive endeavors.
Areas of Research
Microactuators, Piezoelectric Actuators, Ultrasonic Motors
  • Profile
  • Dr. Shunsuke Izuhara joined KUAS as an assistant professor of Faculty of Engineering in 2021. He received his Bachelor’s, Master’s and Dr. Eng. degrees from Toyohashi University of Technology in 2017, 2019 and 2022, respectively.

His main research interests include the design and evaluation of micro ultrasonic actuators and their application to miniature devices. In recent years, the miniaturization of high-performance camera devices is required for thinner, more compact structures in various applications, such as smartphones, drones and endoscopes. Miniature actuators are essential to control the position of lenses. He is working on the development of “compact, easy-to-use actuators that demonstrate sufficient performance”, making for more optimal devices.
