Kameoka is a city surrounded by the beauty of nature in the western part of Kyoto Prefecture. Kameoka Campus is located on a gently sloping hillside and boasts a vast area of 231,764 square meters. The campus has been expanded several times since the founding of KUAS in 1969, and is being redeveloped as the base for various research and development topics.
An example of such developments is the establishment of the Open Innovation Center Kameoka (OICK) on Kameoka Campus in 2023. Built in collaboration with Kameoka City and the Kameoka Chamber of Commerce, OICK will serve as a center for economic development in “open innovation” aimed at building a decarbonized and recycling-oriented society, “mobility innovation” to realize new forms of mobility, and “green innovation” in the field of forest management and smart agriculture.
An Ideal Space for Physical Fitness
Kameoka Campus is equipped with numerous athletic facilities, including sports tracks, soccer fields, baseball fields, tennis courts, and gymnasiums. Each facility is large, making for highly active sports classes and athletic club activities.
Students are encouraged to maintain their health and learn life skills through physical education and extracurricular activities in a fresh, open-air atmosphere.
Hands-on Studies Amidst Natural Surroundings
Kameoka Campus is the home for studying Bioenvironmental Sciences. Surrounded by mountains and fields, the campus has plots for growing crops, greenhouses, and a forest for directly studying the ecology of living creatures. It is an ideal environment for learning while being immersed in real nature.
In addition, there are various laboratories for conducting experiments in the Bioenvironmental Building.

The Ultimate Resting Space
The Kameoka campus has two cafeterias that serve a wide variety of hearty, generously sized lunches. Boxed lunches are also available for purchase, so you will never have trouble finding a decent meal. There are also convenience stores on and near campus.
The lush green Kameoka Campus has many outdoor benches where you can kick your feet up and unwind.
