On January 10th, with the support of numerous partnered companies, the KUAS Faculty of Engineering’s Capstone and Pre-Capstone Projects were brought to completion through the Final Presentation event held at the Engineering Building of Kyoto Uzumasa Campus.

The Capstone Project, a nearly year-long project carried out by third and fourth-year engineering student groups at KUAS, starts with the teams selecting project themes in April, followed by planning and implementation based on that selected theme, and is finally completed with a presentation of their final results in January. Presentations were made by 31 third-year teams and 19 fourth-year teams, totaling 186 participants. 122 guests from 50 companies attended the event and listened to the presentations delivered by the student teams. While the results varied, with some teams seeing more success than others, each team came together and passionately presented their findings with their prototypes on display. The audience was equally engaged in the discussions being held, making for a great overall turnout. Of the third-year participants, 31 of them were international students. All project posters on display, including those made by Japanese students, were written in English; however, many of the international students actively presented their findings in Japanese. The number of international participants is expected to increase by 100 for the next Capstone Project which will begin in April 2024.
