Career Education & Development

Supporting Career Development from Day One
KUAS is committed to developing global talents who will shape the future by providing comprehensive career support from admission through graduation.
Through career education and guidance, students are encouraged to explore global challenges, clarify their goals, and take proactive steps toward achieving their professional aspirations.
Career Education
At KUAS, career-oriented education is designed to develop both foundational knowledge and practical skills, enabling students to contribute effectively in the workplace from an early stage of their careers.
Through career-focused courses such as Career Design, students examine the role of work in an aging society while building the mindset needed to take ownership of their career paths. They also gain an understanding of social systems and industries to prepare for the job search process.
Throughout their studies, students systematically strengthen their academic expertise and professional skills with a clear focus on their future careers.

Internship Programs
KUAS internship programs provide students with valuable opportunities to experience the workplace and gain insight into the skills and qualities demanded by today’s society. Through hands-on learning, students deepen their understanding of work while broadening their career perspectives and enriching their academic experience. KUAS offers two types of internship programs: universitywide internships coordinated by the Career Development Center and open to all students, and department-based internships tailored to specific fields of study. In partnership with a wide range of domestic and international companies, KUAS provides diverse internship opportunities. Students can apply to companies related to their interests and gain real-world business experience through internships lasting from two weeks to one month during the summer break.* Prior to the internship, students attend preparatory sessions that include company and industry research, as well as training in professional etiquette. After completing the internship, students take part in follow-up sessions where they reflect on their experiences, share insights, and present their learning and future goals in a final presentation.
*Capacity is limited, and participants are selected through a screening process.

Career Events & Workshops
KUAS Career Development Center regularly offers a wide range of job-hunting support events to help students prepare for their future careers. These include seminars on self-assessment, industry and company research, and effective preparation for the recruitment process.
Through workshops on resume writing and interview practice in Japanese, students learn key differences between Japanese and international business culture. In addition, company information sessions conducted in English introduce students to various industries and workplaces. Many of the participating companies are interested in hiring KUAS students or already employ KUAS alumni.
These sessions provide valuable opportunities to broaden perspectives, explore career options, and connect academic learning with future employment.

Career Support Services
KUAS Career Development Center offers individual career counseling for students who have questions or concerns about job hunting or post-graduation plans. Through one-on-one consultations, students receive guidance on resume and CV preparation in both Japanese and English, including how to effectively present their strengths, experiences, and achievements. Students are also supported in exploring different industries and job roles to identify career options that align with their interests and abilities. Based on each student’s goals, career advisors provide guidance on suitable job opportunities and next steps in the job search process.
In addition, job listings from a wide range of industries are available through the university’s online job portal. With KUAS’ strong network of corporate partners, students can access valuable industry information and employer insights to support their job search while still on campus.

Academic Incentive Scholarship & Certificate Achievement Rewards
KUAS provides incentives to students who successfully obtain recognized qualifications and certifications. In particular, the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is highly valuable for employment in Japan, and international students are strongly encouraged to take the examination.
Incentive amounts vary depending on the level and difficulty of the qualification obtained.
