What kind of all-English undergraduate degree programs does KUAS offer?

KUAS offers three international, all-English programs across our faculties:
Faculty of Engineering
Faculty of Bioenvironmental Sciences
Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (Global Business and Economics)

What kind of all-English postgraduate degree programs does KUAS offer?

KUAS currently offers English-taught master’s and doctoral programs in engineering. Additionally, a new bioenvironmental sciences program offering master’s and doctoral degrees and an MBA program will launch in 2027.

What are the durations of each program?

The durations for each program are as follows:
Bachelor’s Program: 4 years
Master’s Program: 2 years
Doctoral Program: 3 years

What degrees can I earn at KUAS?

The degrees available to students of KUAS are as follows:
Engineering: Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Engineering, Doctor of Engineering
Bioenvironmental Sciences: Bachelor of Bioenvironmental Sciences
Global Business and Economics: Bachelor of Business Administration

Is a degree from KUAS recognized internationally for graduate studies?

Yes. KUAS is a private university fully accredited by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).
This accreditation ensures that our degrees are internationally recognized, and graduates are eligible to apply for further education, such as Master’s or PhD programs, at universities around the world.

Can I enroll in KUAS to complete a second Bachelor’s degree?

Yes, absolutely. We welcome applicants from all academic backgrounds, including those who have already earned a bachelor’s degree. As long as you meet the standard eligibility criteria detailed in our Application Guidelines, you are welcome to apply for one of our undergraduate programs.

Can I transfer credits from another university to your undergraduate programs?

We welcome applications from students who have previously studied at other universities. However, due to the highly specialized nature of our programs, we do not accept transfer credits. All students admitted to our undergraduate programs must start as first-year students and complete the full four-year degree at KUAS.

Do I need Japanese language skills to enroll?

No. All international programs at KUAS are taught in English, so you do not need to know Japanese before you enroll. After admission, international students take Japanese language classes to improve their Japanese fluency.

Will I learn Japanese at KUAS?

Yes. Japanese language courses are a required and important part of the undergraduate curriculum for all international students. These classes are designed to help you adapt to life in Japan and broaden your future career opportunities, and they are provided at no additional cost.

What month is enrollment?

Enrollment in our all-English degree programs takes place in September.

Does KUAS offer an April intake?

All international programs at KUAS offer just one intake per year, and the academic year starts in September.
If you wish to enroll in April, you will need to enroll in the Japanese-taught program. However, N2 level Japanese language proficiency is required.

Can I apply to KUAS as an undecided major?

No. When you apply to KUAS, you must select a specific faculty you wish to enter.

Does KUAS offer an online degree program?

Not at the moment.
