  • Professor Yamauchi earned his Master of Public Policy degree from the School of Public Affairs at the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1996. His principal scholarly pursuits encompass international relations, economic development, environmental studies with a particular emphasis on climate change, and the interplay between media and social transformation.

    Following his Bachelor of Laws degree from Kyoto University, Professor Yamauchi embarked on a distinguished career at the Kyoto Shimbun Newspaper, serving as a journalist for an extended period. His most notable contributions include a series of incisive reports on multinational negotiations concerning climate change and development. He culminated his tenure at the newspaper as President in 2019. Subsequently, he transitioned to a Toyota Group automotive leasing firm in Nagoya, where he held the position of President for one year before joining the faculty of Kyoto University of Advanced Science in 2023.
