Dr. Yoshimi Igawa is a professor of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Kyoto University of Advanced Science (KUAS), conducting rigorous research in Management Organization Theory and Innovation. Her work particularly focuses on organizational behavior within boundaryless entities, analyzed through the perspectives of human resources development and firm growth.
Dr. Igawa’s academic credentials include an MBA from Babson College (2012) and a Ph.D. in Economics from the Graduate School of Economics, Kyoto University (2023). Her career spans over fifteen years in the private sector and more than three years in academia, most recently at Kyoto University. Her business expertise lies in digital communication, informing her current research in the automotive and service industries, as well as governmental organizations. She actively addresses regional rejuvenation challenges in Kyoto and Tokyo. Her international experience across Europe and the United States also informs her engagement in the healthcare field.
In addition to her faculty position, she serves as a Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Geoeconomics, contributing to the analysis of Economic Security Issues.
Beyond her scholarly pursuits, Dr. Igawa enjoys culinary arts and exploring culturally significant destinations. She is currently interested in visiting UNESCO World Heritage sites like Shirakawa-go and Shuri Castle with her family and values time spent singing with her daughter.
