Kyoto, Japan —The KUAS Robotics Team has had a remarkable year, following up their impressive 3rd place win at the Kansai Spring Robocon 2025 with a championship title at the inaugural Kansai Summer Robocon 2025. The team’s latest victory was achieved on August 23rd at Active Square Daito Gymnasium in Osaka, Japan, where they successfully tackled the “Jōtō” challenge of raising a building frame.

“Our robot’s design emphasized agility, reliability and adaptability. We refined it through rapid iteration and testing. Our team members’ enthusiasm and prior experience in building robots—including, but not limited to, participation in the Kansai Spring Robocon in March 2025—was the key to this success. We’re grateful to our faculty advisors for their mentorship and support.”

The winning team consisted of 11 dedicated undergraduate students from KUAS Faculty of Engineering. Specializing in robotics and mechatronics, these students are a testament to the hands-on education offered at KUAS. Their consistent success in regional competitions provides invaluable practical experience and helps them develop essential project management and leadership skills. This is a core part of the Engineering program at KUAS, which also offers programs in Bioenvironmental Sciences and Global Business and Economics.

“It was gratifying to see the KUAS robot perform consistently through qualifying and knockout rounds. This achievement reflects our students’ strong engineering knowledge, practical know-how and ability to perform in challenging tasks.”

This double victory is a proud moment for KUAS, demonstrating the talent and hard work of our students and the high quality of education they receive.
