【学長メッセージ】~あらためて、あなたと、あなたの大切な人を守るために~

京都先端科学大学の構成員の皆様へ、改めてお知らせしたいと思います。

新型コロナウイルス感染症に、ワクチン接種は有効な対策です。

私は、皆さんと皆さんの大切な人を守るために、学生、教職員等、構成員全員にワクチン接種をしてほしいと思っています。

ただし、本学は、接種を強制しませんし、接種しないことで大学の活動において不利益が生じることがないことを申しあげておきます。

現時点においては、多くの人がワクチン接種をすることが感染抑制への近道だと考えられています。

新型コロナウイルスにかかった場合は、若い人でも一定の確率で後遺症が残ります。

女性の不妊につながる、接種によりICチップを埋め込まれる等というデマが一部に拡散していると聞きますが、間違いです。

本学では、自治体との協力の下、学生、教職員に対して新型コロナウイルスワクチンの職域接種をしております。

ワクチンを接種しても、免疫ができるまでには一定時間がかかりますし、絶対に感染しないというわけではありません。

3密の回避、マスクの着用、手洗い励行などは引き続き実行していくことが必要です。

繰り返し申し上げます。

私は、皆さんと皆さんの大切な人を守るために、構成員全員にワクチン接種をしてほしいと思っています。

[Message from the President] Protect Yourself and Those You Care About

Dear KUAS Community Memebers,

Once again, I would to remind all of you that vaccination is an effective measure against COVID-19. In order to protect you and your loved ones, I would like to ask all members of our community, including our students, faculty, and staff, to receive vaccinations.

At this point in time, vaccination is our best chance of curbing the spread of COVID-19, which has the potential to cause serious, long-term medical complications even among young, healthy people.

Since the beginning of the vaccination effort, there have been rumors and disinformation about the COVID-19 vaccines, suggesting that vaccination can lead to infertility in women, or that the vaccination is used to implant a "computer chip" in its recipient, or other such claims. However, none of these assertions are based on reality nor scientific evidence.

In cooperation with the local government, our university is providing vaccines to all students, faculty, and staff at our on-campus vaccination center.

Even after vaccination, it takes a certain amount of time for immunity to develop. Furthermore, being vaccinated does not mean that you cannot be infected. Vaccinated people must continue to avoid close quarters contact, wear masks, and practice thorough handwashing.

To reiterate, the vaccine is the best way for you to protect yourself and your loved ones, and I urge all of you to get vaccinated.
