京都先端科学大学と株式会社日吉の交流会を実施【バイオ環境学部】

2023年9月27日（水）、三村徹郎教授（バイオ環境学部 学部長）、鈴木玲治教授（同学部バイオ環境デザイン学科 学科長）、高澤伸江准教授、Wong Yong Jie講師、永野真理子嘱託講師は、学術と産業両面からの協力関係を探るため、滋賀県近江八幡市にある株式会社日吉（代表取締役社長　村田弘司、以下「日吉」）の本社を訪れました。

まず日吉の皆さまから同社についての説明が行われ、企業のミッション、企業理念、および進行中のプロジェクトが紹介されました。さらに今後の共同事業の可能性について意見交換を行いました。その後、社内のさまざまな研究施設を訪れ、食品安全分析、環境DNA測定、水質分析などの重要な分野を含む先端的な分析機器や高度な専門技術を見学しました。今回、日吉の環境分析に関する広範な知識と技術を見せていただくことで、共同研究プロジェクトのアイデアを生み出し、学術的な専門知識を産業実践に活かすヒントを得ることができると考えています。

日吉は企業の社会的責務として、近江八幡市の排泄物処理も引き受けられています。その施設も拝見させていただき、企業理念の高さも実感できました。また、これまでもバイオ環境学部の講義などで多くのご協力を得ているとともに、卒業生の就職先としても、お世話になっております。今後も協力関係をより深く発展させ、共同研究だけでなく学生の学習/インターンシップ体験にも繋げることで、大学と企業の総合的な発展に貢献できる関係を育んでいきたいと思います。

On 27^th September 2023, Prof. Mimura Tetsuro (Faculty Dean of Bioenvironmental Sciences), Prof. Suzuki Reiji (Department Head of Bioenvironmental Design), Assoc. Prof. Takasawa Nobue, Dr. Nagano Mariko, and Dr. Wong Yong Jie visited the headquarters of Hiyoshi Corporation Omihachiman City, Shiga Prefecture with the primary objective of exploring potential collaborations between academia and industry.

An introductory session was conducted by members of the Hiyoshi Corporation, where they shared the company’s mission, core values, and ongoing projects. It was a pivotal moment in laying the groundwork for potential collaborative ventures, where the shared knowledge and expertise could contribute to mutual growth and innovation for both KUAS and the Hiyoshi Corporation.

The professors were then taken to view various analytical instruments, such as for food safety and water quality analysis, along with a tour of the environmental DNA laboratory and waste treatment facility. This comprehensive exposure not only highlighted the breadth of expertise at Hiyoshi Corporation but also the potential to spark ideas for collaborative research projects and underscore areas where academic expertise can complement industrial practices.
