大学の構成員の皆様へ

本年の授業が開始されて一週間がたちました。コロナ禍により、対面の授業は相変わらず限定的にせざるを得ませんが、学生諸氏には、学年末に向けて落ち着いて勉学、研究に励んでいただきたい。教職員の皆様には遠隔授業や入試など困難な業務への取り組んでいただいていること、誠にありがたく思っております。

首都圏で緊急事態宣言が発令され、近畿圏でもその動きがあります。昨年から始まったコロナ禍は引き続き私達に試練を与えています。これは人類にとっての試練でありますが、しかし、個々人の努力によって克服できる部分もあることを私たちは知っています。私たちができることを行い、コロナ禍をともに乗り越えていきたいと願っております。

困難な中ではありますが、教職員の皆様には、在宅での研究継続や諸々の業務改善など、新しい知見をもって工夫することにより、大学の活動の継続をお願いしたいと思います。学生諸氏には、これを機会と捉え、書籍、音楽、動画など様々なメディアを使い、他者の経験を自らのものとするなど、内面の充実も図っていただきたいと思います。本学では、近畿圏でのサテライトキャンパスの設置を計画しています。教育・研究の充実に向けてよりいっそう推進していきたいと考えています。

本学は、いつでも開いています。決して閉めません。学生諸氏は、大学生活で困難があれば、いつでも相談してください。学修、キャリア、生活など、どのようなことでも教職員一丸となって支援していきます。でき得ることを何でも行う、あきらめないことがスタートであると信じております。

本年が皆さんと本学にとって実り多い年になることを祈念いたします。

Dear KUAS Community Members,

It has been a week since classes resumed after the New Year holiday. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, face-to-face classes remain limited, but I hope that our students will remain focused and work hard on their studies and research as we approach the end of our academic year. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of our faculty and staff members for their hard work in providing remote classes and assisting with admissions activities.

A state of emergency has been declared in the Tokyo metropolitan area, and there are movements to do so in the Kinki area as well. The COVID-19 pandemic, which began last year, continues to be a great test for all of humanity, but there are parts of this puzzle that can be solved through individual effort. I hope that we can overcome this pandemic together.

Although this is a difficult time, I ask that the faculty and staff continue to invigorate our university by devising new ways to continue their research from home or improve the efficiency of our operations using new technology and methods. As for our students, I hope that they will take this rare opportunity to enrich their minds by delving into all sorts of media like books, music, and film to make the knowledge of others their own. KUAS is planning to establish satellite campuses in the Kinki region in the near future, through which we will further enhance education and research.

Throughout this pandemic, we have kept our university’s doors open, and no matter what happens we will not close. Students are always welcome to talk to us if they are faced with a problem. The faculty and staff will work together to support them in any way they can, whether it be in their studies, their job hunting, or just in their daily life. I believe in doing anything we can for our students, and not letting a student give up is the best way to start them down the path to success.

I hope this year will be a fruitful one for you and our university.
