京都先端科学大学 ウクライナからの正規学生6名の合格者第一弾が決定。 5月12日（木）合格者オンライン懇談会を実施します / Kyoto University of Advanced Science First Batch of 6 Ukrainian Students Accepted to KUAS Online Welcome Meeting to be Held on May 12 (THU)

京都先端科学大学（京都市右京区、学長前田正史）は、2022年2月に始まったロシア軍のウクライナ侵攻により大学で学び、研究することが困難になった学生や研究者に英語で講義を行っている工学部、工学研究科、ビジネススクールの学びや研究の場を提供し支援致します。学生は正規課程の学生として入学を認めます。また、単位認定を行った上で、編入学も認めております。
「List of Universities Helping Ukrainian Students 」に日本で唯一本学名が4月に掲載され、これまで200名弱の志願がありました。4月から第1グループの入試を進め、4月27日に下記6名の合格者が決定しました。1年生として4名、2年編入者として2名です。（現状、合計25～30名程度の入学者を想定）
現在、日本入国の準備を進めており、5月中にも一部入国する可能性がありますが、事前確認も含め現地合格学生とのオンライン懇談会を開催致します。

Kyoto University of Advanced Science (President: MAEDA Masafumi, Ukyo-ku Ward, Kyoto City, Japan) will provide study and research opportunities to Ukrainian students and researchers who have been displaced by the Russian invasion of Ukraine that began in February of 2022. Ukrainian students are being invited to join KUAS’ engineering and MBA programs, where all lectures are held in English. These Ukrainian students will be admitted as full-time students. Transfer students are also being accepted with approval of credit.

KUAS is the only university in Japan whose name was listed on the international "List of Universities Helping Ukrainian Students" in April. Since then, nearly 200 Ukrainians have applied to KUAS. Interviews of the First Batch of Ukrainian students began in April, and the following six students were accepted on April 27. They include 4 first-year students and 2 second-year transfer students. (Presently, KUAS expects to invite 25 ~ 30 Ukrainian students in total.)

KUAS is currently preparing these students to travel to Japan, and there is a possibility that some of them will enter Japan as early as May. Therefore, we will be holding an online meeting today with these students to provide them with information and answer their questions. Although this is short notice, we heartily welcome dignitaries and members of the press to join us in this event.

3. Future Event Schedule

The Second Batch of applicants (18 persons) will be interviewed by the KUAS Faculty of Engineering on Thursday, May 12 - Friday, May 20

*Based on the results of the Second Batch of Interviews, another Entrance be held.
